Lil Peep and Makonnen accomplished the primary fifteen of what could be twenty-one songs and would later be often called the album “Diamonds” in Los Angeles, precisely 6 years in the past in August of 2017.

Whereas Gus was glad to be residence for his grandpa’s birthday, he couldn’t wait to get again to creating music with Makonnen. He knew there was extra music to make, and he knew he had restricted time on account of his upcoming fall COWYS tour, so he organized his subsequent chunk of studio time so he may meet Makonnen in London, the place they made the final batch of songs.
All of us waited with anticipation for the discharge of this album. Then Gus handed away. I knew I needed to do every little thing I may to assist get this album launched—and launched the way in which Gus and Makonnen had made it.
I’m very grateful to Makonnen not just for his persistence, grace, and fortitude, but in addition for the tenderness with which he re-assembled the unique “Diamonds Staff” to softly put together the album for its launch. He did an incredible job—all of them did. Gus could be so proud to know that this album had come out. He could be grateful to his pals for taking the time and care to do it good.
