It’s no news that landlords will skimp on the maintenance. They either won’t do it or they will hire the cheapest maintenance people who tend to leave things worse off than it started, but hey, on paper they were there and they are professionals, so the landlord did their duty, right?
Well, this time the apartment management and lazy maintenance workers really messed up—they crossed a cat mom. This cat mom has had a lot of issues with this apartment complex since she moved in. However, she never imagined they would put her cats in danger. They were doing work on her walls, and when they were done they patched up the walls (very messily).
She couldn’t find one of her two cats when all of a sudden she heard scratching and meowing from inside the wall. She couldn’t believe it! The maintenance men patched up the wall with her cat inside of it. She desperately got a knife and started opening up a hole in her wall. She eventually got the cat out unscathed, but she was still terrified of what just went down.
She went to her front desk manager, the apartment super per se, and told her what just transpired. The front desk woman also could not believe that this happened and was very sorry. However, it turns out that their phone lines are down and nobody works on the weekend anyway, so there’s no one to contact. She also adds that the maintenance guys should not have been working at her place on the weekends anyway, so all kinds of discretion went down.
That Monday, this furious cat mama marched into the management company’s offices and demanded to see consequences. She wanted to see these maintenance workers and get justice. The reviews for these workers are beyond abysmal and everybody in the apartment complex knows that they are lazy and simply not good at their job, which you can see in their “handiwork.”
Unfortunately, but not surprisingly, the apartment management company was unhelpful and took the side of the hired maintenance workers. They said that they would never do such a thing and it all must have been a big mistake. Meanwhile, she has proof of these maintenance workers being lazy. When you walk into her apartment you can see kitchen counters and the sink uninstalled, trashbags of old moldy drywall laying around, and doors barely hanging on to their hinges.
Currently, there hasn’t been more progress, but she vows to get justice for her kitties and for herself.
